I just watched Extreme Makeover Home Edition, and subsequently the children put on a different floor told of girls who, it is their culture. Why do children sleep on the floor and the girls in the Polynesian culture different?

I live in New Zealand, where there is a huge amount of Polynesian people, and I have not heard of it. In fact, people do not complain still here!
